Frequently Asked Questions about Flower Subscriptions

What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?

It’s a way for community members to support their local farmers by purchasing a seasonal share of locally grown crops. By purchasing a CSA subscription, you are committing to support local farms and local businesses. We are offering a weekly share (bouquet) for 15 non-consecutive weeks this season (April to October). Having the commitment of our CSA subscribers allows us to better manage our harvest, and to ensure that the freshest flowers can be enjoyed by our community.

How does it work?

Each CSA pick-up week, we will assemble special bouquets for CSA subscribers to pick-up on Thursdays at Molzon Landscape Nursery. Bouquets will be filled with fresh flowers grown at Molzon’s. Because we only use flowers grown on our farm, the weekly bouquets will vary depending on what’s blooming each week. Throughout your subscription, you can expect to see tulips, peonies, sunflowers, dahlias, gladiolus and zinnias.

Can I pick up on a different day?

Right now, Thursday is our only available CSA subscription pick-up day.  We can offer this subscription and bigger CSA bouquets by being efficient with our time. This means we plan our harvest, cut the flowers, and arrange bouquets each week based on the Thursday pick-up schedule.  If you can’t make it on Thursday, CSA bouquets will still be available for pick-up on Friday, but it will be the same selection of bouquets that are arranged for Thursday’s pick-up.

I can’t pick-up my flower subscription on Thursday. What should I do?

 Here are your options:

  1. Ask a friend, relative, or neighbor to pick it up for you.  This is also a great way to let someone else enjoy a beautiful bouquet of flowers!
  2. Pick-up on Friday.  We make all bouquets to be ready for pick-up on Thursday, but if you send us an email at flowerbarn@molzons.com, we can keep your bouquet in the cooler to keep it fresh for you to pick-up on Friday
  3. Donate it! If you aren’t able to pick-up, let us know in advance and we’ll donate your bouquet to a local senior or non-profit.
